Anyway, we’re having a burst of crappy weather the past 2 weeks, and yesterday was no exception. It was pouring in the afternoon, and when the time came for the fireworks, it has moderated to a slight drizzle, but still unpleasant.

My past few attempts at shooting fireworks were shot from the sheares bridge, which provided a fantastic spot for photography, but in the recent years, they have stopped allowing people up the bridge.

Shooting from the floating platform was actually quite a pain because of the range, as well as how quickly the place got smoked out yesterday. After firing off about 10 shots, the whole place was so smokey that all the shots came out crap, but here’s the few that could be salvaged with photoshop.

Yesterday was the kickoff performance, brought to us by team Italy. The president was the official VIP, and was invited to the opening ceremony.

Me, Lawrence & wife, Roy & wife were on the sheares bridge. Not the best spot to shoot, but it was crowded everywhere as well. So anyway, here’s the few shots from last night.
